What does IVIS mean in Canon VIXIA iVIS HF S21 Camcorder?
I'm looking at cameras and they are cheaper in Japan. I can buy one - called Canon iVIS HF S21 Camcorder. I'm trying to figure out if it is EXACTLY the same thing as the Canon Vixia S21 sold in the USA.

Although "iVIS" (spelled by Canon with the "small i") is just the Japanese-market version of the Vixia brand name, I get the impression "iVIS" derives from an Image Stabilization system acronym (which eliminates hand-held camera shake, etc.) as well as the word "VISION", and the small "i" is a reference to the other popular "i-gadgets" such as iPod, iMac, and iPhone. .
One problem with "Japan market" models is usually Japanese-only menus, which can be confusing. The good news is that both Japan and USA are "NTSC" TV system countries.
I'll poke around the Canon USA and WorldWide websites and check things out for ya!

How to transfer/upload videos from Canon vixia HF200 to computer,open/edit/convert Canon HF200 video

Question:
Hi, I transferred all the videos to my computer from Canon HF200 but It doesn't open MTS files. So, do i have to download some software that will convert those files and if so, then what is the best program i should use to convert and be able to see those files with HDMI quality?
The Canon VIXIA HF200 Flash Memory camcorder is smallest and lightest HD camcorder that allows to record up to 6 hours of crisp, high definition video (LP Mode) to a removable SDHC card. The MTS files are the video files. They are created by the AVCHD compression process in the camcorder. So how do i get the .MTS file type loaded onto my pc for editing?
