Photo Props
Why Photography Props are an Absolute Must in Professional Photo Shooting
There are all sorts of reasons for which photography props are an absolute must in professional photo shooting, but very often a lot depends on the type of perception the viewer has on things. On the one hand we can talk about the objective props that are considered must-haves for picture taking in general: here we include the backdrop, the lights, the possible prints and so on. As for the subjective photography props, we could say that they are related to the photographer's vision of a certain scene or picture pose. Photography is not simply about the truthful rendering of reality but more about seeing a certain touch of emotion on a model's face for instance.
Photography props are ideal for creating a picture atmosphere: in the setting both the model and the photographer are co-participants in a concept-design process that can be shaped and influenced by mood, attitude, flexibility and good communication. Let's take for instance the use of the backdrop to create whatever type of effect one has in mind. One thing is for sure here, such an item should not be more interesting than the focal part of the picture: no photography props could actually be as fascinating as the model.
Consequently, make sure that the photography props used in the proces are all having a proper quality level to ensure the correct picture outcome. We should probably mention the fact that photography props are different according to the place where the shooting session is set: you'll need one type of items for outdoors photos and a completely different one for indoors shooting. Moreover, in case you are using a Digital Camera, the photography props used can be virtual. The latter type of concept is representative for the modern tendencies of taking the picture and adjusting the background and the setting on the computer by means of special software.
Thus, we could actually speak of an absence of photography props when digital cameras are used; most often the choice belongs to the photographer. The quality and the nature of the props is highly influenced by the type of photos one wants to make; amateurs will not bother too much about setting the background correctly, whereas professional photographers will keep arranging and rearranging the setting for hours. The finality of the photos is also important in the choice of photography props, this means that for exquisite glamor pictures, a more special background in required.

what kind of props would you use for a 6 month olds professional halloween photo?
Besides her costume (she is a lady bug). I was thinking of leaning her against a pumpkin or two but I wanted to use a bunch of different props unfortunately I can't think of anything creative. Please help!
Either, you could put her in a pumpkin patch type setting, or get lots of big fake leaves. It doesn't have to be COMPLETELY Halloween, the fact that she has a costume on should speak for itself.
Hope this helped in some way

The Power of the Photo Booth
Photo booths have fast gained popularity in recent times for good reason. Photobooth-ME (The Photo booth company (Dubai, UAE)) explains the secret of this high-impact marketing tool and fun 'phototainment' - and tells customers what to look for when booking a photo booth for their next event.
It is pretty hard to go through life and not have a photo booth photostrip from somewhere; a train station back with high school friends poking faces, once upon a time lovebirds sneaking a cuddle behind the curtain or hamming it up with friends with modern-day Mac users' programme.
Photo booths touch a nostalgic part in many of us and add a powerful dimension that many other forms of entertainment (and for corporate brands - PR & marketing) cannot achieve during the average single event.
An actual booth structure - whereby people step in to and activate the magical machine can produce amazing candid photos it would take even photography pros alot of time, effort and 'tricks' to get the same affect within seconds. For the user, there is something about not having a photographer staring back at you that brings out the showman in all of us. Even the most camera shy can gain bravado through the use of fun props and glasses, hats and the comraderie of a group in the booth - all playing up to the lens.
Photobooths often contain pro-level equipment and quality printers for fast printing; 3-6 in a row photostrips and other print out options; standup or sit down styles, onscreen LCD screens so the short and the tall or the many can best position themselves plus fun props to really ensure that the clown in all of us comes out to play.
With instant print and often brand-able photos (complete with company logos or event theme, married couple's insignia or wedding date etc) all guests get to take home a souvenir as well as have great fun through the process. We've all been to yawnfest award ceremonies or gala dinners than feel a bit lacklustre so a photobooth brings interactivity and (literally) life to the party.
Add to that the ability to place the photos online and have guest then share the laughs with friends via their social media of choice, from Facebook to Twitter, Iphone to YouTube - and any company has as many people (in their hundreds or thousands) now spreading their brand across what is the most high-impact form of communication available this decade.
For customers, there are as number of key questions to ask when looking for a booth for your next event.
- Is it a booth structure or a branded backdrop/more open set up (both can provide fun but both are different experiences)?
- can the structure be branded?
- are all photos branded?
- do you offer online? how it is managed (open source or locked private gallery and passwords to guests)
- are photos unlimited. do you offer reprints or a 1 or duplicate photos per session with the rest online (reprints are often able but can with many booths hold up the flow of people so different booths will handle photo output differently. No one ever misses out as all photos are most often online and guests are often free to visit the booth as many times as the lineup lets them
- how fast are the photos printed/how many average guests can be catered for over a 3 hour timeslot
- What kind of equipment do you use?
- Do you have props. What are they?
- How can you customise/personalise the booth to our event?
- How many attendants and what is their role? Are they professionally dressed and trained for customer service (depending on your event type)
- What clients have your worked for? any testimonials?
Photo booths are custom set ups. They are (most often) not industrial machines so operators do often need paper/ink refills and mini breaks for focus and software adjustments throughout the course of an event as internal mechanisms are fragile and professional technical equipment. Most booths guarantee total in-service time of not under 80% (or terms often state extended time or, in the event of any mechanical hiccups, pro-rated refunds). It's fragile cameras, laptops, printers, cables, more cables, screens and droves of over-excited people - things (can) happen so ask operators to highlight any technical matters in advance.
Photo booths often need only a nearby power outlet and a flat level service. Whilst ideal for indoors, outdoor events can be catered for if provided surfaces are flat or housed within a marquee.
Ask lots of questions and let the booth company know as much detail as they can about your event so as to add in their ideas and experience. Let the booth operator suggest ways the best options and add creative ideas to make your event the talking point for months, or, with a branded piece of memorabilia in hand to all guest, a lifetime.
And most of all, on the day of the event, have fun, be silly, get creative and it could be the biggest and best dose of laughter (and PR) you've had in a long time...
