Its a really good price compared to others.
I was wondering if I would need one of these to take photos indoors?
you see yesterday i tried taking a photo indoors and the Light Meter on my nikon fm2 couldnt find the light in any aperture.
Would I need a flash too? or would a soft box solve my indoor photography problems?

Soft boxes are wonderful, but that particular "deal" on ebay doesn't include any lights, it is ONLY the softbox.
I bought a very cheap lighting kit off ebay, but it was very disappointing - not very strong at all and it has a strong (yellow) color cast.
You might want to consider a good flash plus translucent umbrella on a stand (plus a reflector) as a starter kit.

Does anybody have any idea what lighting the photographer has used in this photo?

also i wrote itit has a close shooting distance, whiich makes the focal length longer? is this right?
Looking at her eye, I'd say one softbox high above the camera and one below, slightly to the side, facing Diana. There also appears to be quite a bit of backlighting from camera right, but the light is reasonably diffuse as the shadows aren't that strong. (The shadows of course may be tempered by the 2 softboxes in Diana's face.)
The high key backdrop is easily produced using 2 powerful spillkills on the background. Meter all over for even lighting and place the model some distance away to reduce light from the background impinging on the model.
I've also used a technique that uses a high softbox and two large polyboard reflectors either side with another smaller reflector below the camera. This produces extremely even lighting.
Of course you could always ask Mario Testino for a definitive answer!
