Soaking the area where spots are could be done but using harsh detergents would spoil the quality of the material drastically. Since muslin is cotton so it means that it has the likelihood of wrinkling. The best way of getting wrinkle-free material is by hanging it on a stand and then naturally let the wrinkles fall out from their places.
