Winter White Wedding Bouquets
White is a beautiful color for bridal bouquets at any time of the year. During the winter months, it can be especially nice to add some seasonal accents to white wedding flowers to make them extra special. These are some ideas for the most gorgeous winter white bridal bouquets.
During the winter months, there will be a few limitations on the availability of flowers, but luckily there are numerous wedding favorites which are available. Classic roses are always in style, and you will have no shortage of them for a winter wedding. A tightly packed round nosegay of white roses is a timeless bouquet for a bride. The simple addition of a velvet ribbon to tie the stems together will make it wintery and elegant.
If you wish to add a bit of drama to a white rose bouquet, consider adding crystal accents. They are a fabulous addition when the bride is wearing sparkling crystal wedding jewelry. Ask your florist to add a crystal on a wire to the center of some of the roses like jewelry for your wedding flowers. The twinkle of the crystals will make your bouquet even more festive and it is marvelous for an evening wedding.
Asiatic lilies are also available for winter brides, and they are a great option when you want a showy bouquet. The large blooms really make a statement, and will also work beautifully in the coordinating ceremony arrangements and centerpieces. A big bouquet of white lilies is a statement unto itself, with minimal adornment needed. For a more traditional effect, arrange them in a round bouquet, or go for even more drama with a cascading bouquet of lilies.
Tulips are considered to be a harbinger of spring, but they become available through florists by the later part of the winter. They make a wonderful option for a bride who likes a steamlined bouquet. The graceful lines of Dutch tulips are pure elegance. To introduce a bit of winter, use an organza ribbon with a snowflake print as your bouquet wrap. Allow the ribbon to have long streamers so that the pattern is more visible.
There are lovely accents that can be added to almost any winter white bouquet. One of the prettiest is embossed velvet leaves. In a soft cream or white color, they make a feminine bouquet ruff with a vintage flair. Modern brides will adore the effect that white feathers can have on a bouquet. The feathers can be formed in a ring around the flowers, scattered throughout the blossoms, or even used in lieu of flowers. White Feather Productions brings Cherokee artist, Donald Vann, to the Golden Triangle Mall in Denton, Texas
Donald Vann Celebrating in Denton, Texas By Jeannene Bernard ?
World-renowned Cherokee Artist, Donald Vann, will be celebrating his 51st year of painting at the "Handmade Indian Crafts" inside the Golden Triangle Mall, November 27, 28, and 29, 2009 in Dention, Texas. Donald, a decorated Vietnam veteran, combines his love for art and his Cherokee heritage, he creates moving images that speak of the Indian way of life and capture the hearts of art collectors worldwide. He was proclaimed, "…one of the best known Indian artists of the twentieth century…" by the Cherokee National Historical Society. The Smithsonian Institution's Museum of the American Indian honored him with their top painting award for watercolor medium. He has also won first place ribbons in juried competitions at Oklahoma's Red Earth Exhibit, Colorado Indian Market and National American Indian Arts Exposition.
Donald was born and raised near Stilwell, Oklahoma, inside the Cherokee Nation, but it is more than just his Native American heritage he strives to share. He has spent much of his life in nature first camping and hunting with his Grandfather as a young boy, then as an artist studying nature and wildlife up close. Donald draws his greatest inspiration from the earth, sky and the rhythms of nature. His creations have qualities that allow the viewer to share some of the inner facets of the world as he sees it.
Donald was honorably discharged from Fort Hood, Texas in March of 1973. He was so impressed with the surrounding country; he decided to make his home and studio in Austin. This is the studio where most of his visions have been transferred to art. Although his paintings are sold in galleries in several areas of the United States, Donald enjoys going on the road, meeting new people and keeping up with collectors.
When asked what would he like people to know about him, Donald said he has met lots of nice people and all people are important to him. He has had a good life and has been able to share it with loving friends and family. He is thankful for the ability to enjoy the things he is able to do in his life now and hopes to continue for many years to come.
