I heard that there is something like a card installed to the PC which enable connection to the video player and thus record stuff from cassette to HD. Please help.
The answers are multiple so I've included some links to help.
Essentially, a decent video capture card will do the job of recording from analogue into a digital format on your hard drive (many graphics cards now come with tv tuner and video capture facilities). For the best quality some say you need to go to an external tuner/capture device. It's then just a matter of what you want to do with the video after that. Video editing software is a totally different story but the first link will give you some idea. If you have Nero or Windows movie maker it will do the job to start with but have a look around after playing a little to see what packages will suite you best.
Just be aware that these links are a little old so some of the hardware and software mentioned has been upgraded since. the content is still pretty good though. Also, search answers under capture cards and video editing.
